Gibraltar Hotels
The number of Gibraltar hotels may be small, but many of the hotels in Gibraltar are of a superb quality and offer a real warmth and hospitality that keeps guests returning year after year.
Gibraltar’s famous Gibraltar Hotels are no more famous than the Rock Hotel, built in 1932 offers guests comfortable colonial-style furnishings, with 104 bedrooms offering a range of suites, junior suites and penthouses, with the emphasis on a friendly and personal service. The food at The Rock Hotel is taken very seriously and is heavily influenced by Mediterranean and North African cuisine, as well as the best of British fare. The menus also take full advantage of the abundant locally available seafood, with delicious scallops, prawns, crabs, turbot and sea bass regularly on offer. With two rosettes in the 2008 AA guide, the Rock Hotel is an incredibly popular choice for weddings with its sweepingly romantic views of the bay of Gibraltar.
The four star O’Callaghan Elliot hotel in Gibraltar Hotels list, is an excellent base from which to explore the area being set on the tree lined Governor’s Parade close to the main shopping street and the business district. It features an eighth floor sun terrace and pool, making it a wonderful place to relax and take in the view of the sea, with 120 comfortably furnished rooms with all the facilities you’d expect to feel right at home.
Gibraltar Hotels Caleta hotel, also a four star, is set on a rocky promontory on the quieter east side of the rock. Here you can enjoy excellent food in the Italian restaurant, beautiful sea views and the picturesque fishing village of Catalan Bay. Sunbathers and swimmers will find themselves with easy access to the bay’s sandy beach, which is unique for a hotel in Gibraltar, and for livelier evenings out, the bustling Gibraltar town is just a short taxi ride away.
All three of these superb Gibraltar hotels are licensed to perform weddings, while both the Rock and Caleta have disabled facilities. You also won’t require a travel adaptor, as the voltage is the same as the UK.
